The word of God
We believe that hearing God's Word read and preached is a means of grace in which we experience God's presence and receive grace to grow in our faith as we learn to become more and more like Jesus. All of our worship services include scripture reading and a sermon that is firmly rooted in the Bible and seeks to interpret God's Word for our lives today.
We offer Bible study each week on Wednesdays at 10:30 a.m. and 6 p.m. Our Bible studies are designed to help participants learn more about God’s word and what it is saying to us today in the context of tradition, experience, and reason.
The Sacraments: Baptism and communion
We believe that Holy Baptism is the sacrament that incorporates us into the Body of Christ as we are united to the death and resurrection of Jesus. Baptism is a beginning to our journey of faith. We baptize people of all ages, including infants. We believe that God's grace is poured out upon all who receive baptism, and that God continues to work within us to make us more and more like Jesus.
We believe that Holy Communion is a sacrament in which we receive all the life of God. In this Holy Mystery we are united to Christ and to one another and receive God's grace to help us become more and more like Jesus. Communion is offered on the first and third Sunday of each month, as well as on other Holy Days in the Church’s calendar.
We believe that fellowship between believers is an important part of the Christian life. We offer a variety of opportunities for fellowship including dining out groups, game nights, fellowship dinners, and special events throughout the year.
Fellowship time is offered Sunday from 11-11:15 a.m., in between morning Worship and Sunday School.
Whether it’s collecting food for Africa, sending shoes to children impacted by hurricanes, or helping local families who’ve lost everything in a fire, we believe in being in mission at home and around the world. We support a variety of local outreach efforts including the Greenback Food Pantry and the Empty Stocking Fund. We also participate in a variety of regional, national, and international ministries through our support of United Methodist mission initiatives throughout the year.
We are a vibrant, growing faith community. We would love to have you join us for Worship, Bible Study, or a fellowship event. If you have questions about membership, baptism, or any of our practices and beliefs, please contact us and our pastor will reach out to you.
